Poll – Democrats Choose America to Lose War in Iraq
Four out of every ten Democrats – 40% – either believe the world will be better off if America loses the war in Iraq, or they’re not sure, according to a Fox News Opinion Dynamics Poll released last week. One out of every five Democrats is sure the world would be better off if America loses the war.
If ever there was a question on where the Democratic Party stands today, the answers given in this poll are revealing to say the least.
The Democratic Party today is “not your daddy’s Democratic Party.” Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy are rolling over in their graves. “…We shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend or oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of liberty,” said Kennedy in his inaugural address to the nation on January 20, 1961. Forty-six years later, almost half of all Democrats would like to see America lose the war to spread freedom, which is what the Iraq war is really all about.
Like an invasive, incurable cancer, MoveOn.org and the wackos of the Daily Kos crowd have taken over the Democratic Party. MoveOn.org issues the orders, and like brainless automatons, Democrats march forth in answer.
One month after the November 2004 presidential election, the George Soros funded, left-wing group MoveOn.org sent a declaration to the Democratic Party:
“In the last year, grassroots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC, and proved that the Party doesn’t need corporate cash to be competitive. Now it’s our Party; we bought it, we own it, and we’re going to take it back.”
“They Will Not Silence Me!”
The brash and blustering host of MSNBC’s Hardball, Chris Matthews had barely finished praising his colleagues at the 10th anniversary party for his show when he decided “to make some news.” After praising the framers of the Constitution for the First Amendment that allows him to make a living, he outlined what he thought was the fundamental difference between the Bush and Clinton administrations.
The Clinton camp, he said, never put pressure on his bosses to silence him.
Well, of course not, Oh Great One! Why would they? You’re both far-left wing liberals.
“Not so this crowd,” he added, explaining that Bush White House officials – especially those from Vice-President Cheney’s office – called MSNBC brass to complain about the content of his show and attempted to influence its editorial content.
“They will not silence me!” Matthews declared. I only regret that I have but one life to give to my country…oops – never mind. That was Nathan Hale.
“They’ve finally been caught in their criminality,” Matthews continued. Consistent with the Democratic playbook, Matthews did not specify the exact criminal behavior nor did he cite any corroborating evidence.
Matthews’ mouth generally runs about 10 minutes before his brain catches up. This was evident when he followed up with, “Spiro Agnew was not an American hero.” Neither is Jimmy Carter, but what the hell does that have to do with George Bush?
Matthews will be co-moderating the Republican debate in Michigan this Tuesday. It would be hard to find someone any more prejudicial or immoderate than Chris Matthews, but I don’t see any Republicans refusing to debate as the Democrats did when Fox News managing editor, Britt Hume, was scheduled to moderate a Democratic debate.
I’m sure liberals and Democrats alike are praying that Matthews doesn’t embarrass the Democratic Party too much with his inability to ask coherent and cogent questions without turning beet-red and spluttering.
