Reading, [W]riting, and Rubbers
Education officials in Portland, Maine have decided to pass out birth control pills and condoms in middle school to 11 and 12-year old boys and girls.
The Associated Press reports that, “King Middle School will become the first middle school in Maine to make a full range of contraception available, including birth control pills, patches and condoms. There are no national figures on how many middle schools provide such services. Most middle schoolers range in age from 11 to 13.”
With 17 pregnancies reported over the last four years in Portland’s three middle schools, officials went into crisis mode. Why just last year alone, five of the 134 students who visited the schools health center reported having sexual intercourse!
Richard Veilleux, a supporter of the “condoms for kids” ruling said, “This isn’t encouraging kids to have sex. This is about the kids who are engaging in sexually activity.”
With that kind of thinking, maybe the school should pass out ammunition and gun cleaning kits. After all, “this isn’t encouraging kids to bring guns to school. This is about the kids who are already bringing guns to school.”
Or maybe the school should start distributing clean needles and drug paraphernalia. “This isn’t encouraging kids to do drugs. This is about the kids who are already doing drugs.”
When I was 10 and 11-years old I went to school to learn the three “R’s”; “Reading, [w]riting, and [a]rithmetic.”
With the multiculturism taught by liberals in today’s educational system, kids go to school to learn the new three “R’s” – “Relativism, revisionism, and rubbers.”
