Congress Approval Rating Lower Than Bush

After the November 2007 congressional election that swept the Democrats into control of both the Senate and House, the new Democratic Congress had an approval rating of 37%. By last month that approval rating had dropped to 33%.  A Gallup poll released yesterday shows Congressional approval has just tanked another 4 points down to 29%…an approval rating 4 points lower than President Bush’s rating of 33% in the same poll.

Taking into consideration Bush shoulders the baggage of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Social Security and Medicaid reform, illegal immigration, and still outpolls the Democratic Congress by 4 points says a lot; but it doesn’t say too much for Sen. Harry Reid and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
